This is my second Insurance Policy with Direct Gap. Currently a claim in place for the first. So hopefully that will be resolved very shortly or there will be a swift change of star ratings ... lol. That said, after buying your car and funds are tight then don't waste your money on a fancy up-sell fabric protector at £275, invest in Gap Insurance resisting that offered first by the hard selling dealer..... In my case, Dealer £540 (Return to invoice), Direct Gap £280 (Vehicle Replacement).

The purchasing process was extremely easy online and the price very competitive with other online offers. My main dealer asked £399 for 3 years cover and it had to start straight away, yet do not need in first year as basic car insurance covers full replacement value in first 12 months. Gap Insurance allows one year deferment, I took a 4 year policy, so effectively am covered for 5 years.......excellent price of £209. Before buying I checked a few points with James online : very professional and helpful advice. So far, outstanding service from Gap Direct. If I ever need their services should my car be written off or stolen, I hope the excellent standard of customer service will continue!

I did try to buy scratch & dent and alloy repair insurance with the gap insurance but have had to do these separately. A multi policy package would be good.

Have just purchased a 2 year old car but before picking up the car I was booked in for an appointment to discuss GAP insurance. I did my homework before the appointed meeting and discovered many internet websites offering GAP but I was drawn to Direct Gap as the claim limit was unlimited whereas on many of the other sites you have to work out and calculate what you think should be the claim limit. At the meeting I was told how the company they use is FCA regulated and to be very careful of internet companies etc etc which leaves you feeling very confused and not knowing who to trust. The price they quoted me was £349 over 4 years which is far more expensive than online companies. Anyway having returned home I did more investigative work and noted down the name of the insurers the GAP policy used by the car dealer and the name of the insurers this company used which I found under your FAQ section. Guess what? They are the same. Needless to say I have now purchased GAP from you and would say to any other potential buyer do not be fooled into buying from car dealerships and save yourself a fortune. Hope this helps!

Used Direct Gap insurance on other vehicles although never needed a pay out but feel very relaxed with knowing the car is covered with VRI,not to mention the very competitive online prices.

This will be a briliant purchase if i never have to use it as policy offered at the dealers was 4 times what i have just paid. This is something most people will never use so you dont want to pay out excessive amounts of cash,but it is nice to have the peace of mind just incase you are one of the unlucky few who need to make a claim. it was very simple to complete the application download and print the documents.
