Not the cheapest quote received (at £189 vs £157) but the purchase went through without a hitch. Proof of the quality with these products is always in the 'what if I have to claim' scenario . . which we all hope will never apply . . . fingers crossed. The competitors product which I came to within a final click of purchasing only told me at that stage that the start date had to be within 30 days !? . . . no good if you wish to defer commencement until your insurers 12 month policy 'here is a new one' applies . . . their loss.

I chose Direct Gap because of the good reviews and that fact that they were not the cheapest. I would rather pay a little more and be sure of a company that does not try to avoid paying out in the unfortunate event that a claim has to be made.

I rang to ask about the differences between policies before purchasing and a very pleasant lady talked me through the main differences. I was expecting to be asked to sign up there and then, but there was no pressure and I finally purchased a policy after getting my new car. Well done ! ( Hopefully I'll not need to use it )
