We have a responsibility to all of our customers under the FCA directive known as Treating Customers Fairly.
With alloy wheel insurance, we go to great lengths with our customers to ensure that the product is suitable for their needs. We have seen an increase in clients purchasing our standard alloy wheel insurance for a vehicle that in fact has diamond/laser cut wheels.
These particular wheels are specifically excluded from this insurance as they cannot be refurbished at your home or place of work in the same manner as a standard alloy wheel.
If you are in any doubt as to the type of alloy wheels fitted to your vehicle, we recommend that you check with your supplying dealer and inform us if there are any issues.
The cancellation period for this policy is currently set at 14 days by the underwriters. Once we are outside that period, Direct Gap Insurance is unable to reclaim any of the premium paid from the insurer. This clearly is very annoying for a client that is unable to make a claim due to diamond/laser cut wheels and is then unable to claim a refund for the policy.
